Meet Toby Atkinson, the Store Manager at our premier store in Abbotsford. With 25 years of store management experience, Toby is thrilled to be bringing his expertise to a brand new and budding industry, legal recreational cannabis! So what drew him to the industry?
“I am a big believer in the benefits of cannabis, it’s been a huge help for me in dealing with chronic pain and stimulating a healthy appetite. Although I don’t have much experience in the industry, I’m excited to be joining the Jima team and I can’t wait to work with our experienced bud-tenders to learn more about recreational cannabis.”
And what’s the most exciting part of this new role?
“I’m really excited to introduce the community in Abbotsford to the Jima brand and what we have to offer. As someone who’s new to cannabis myself, I’m looking forward to becoming an ambassador for the product, especially to new and first-time customers. Jima really cares about getting to know the communities that we’re in and I think that’s what’s really exciting about the role.”
What’s the best part of living on the west coast?
“I’ve lived in Ottawa most of my life and I’d have to say the weather has been the best part of my move. British Columbia is absolutely gorgeous and, as someone who loves to go hiking and explore the outdoors, I don’t miss the frigid winters and super hot summers that forced me inside in Ottawa.”
If we sold a strain named after you, what would it be called?
“When I’m not outside I love to play video games and board games so I’d want a strain that gives a nice relaxed high but keeps you sharp for gaming. I think I’d call it Turtle Sundae because it would be perfect for a lazy Sunday and it’d have a nutty, caramel flavour.”
We are thrilled to be welcoming Toby to our team and we can’t wait to see his plans for the Abbotsford store come to life. You can meet Toby and our team of budtenders at the Grand Opening at Parallel Marketplace – 1900 Parallel N, Abbotsford.
